Dodge Charger
Of the 30 clips, 27 are Chargers from the LD era onward and 3 are 1968-1970 B-bodies. Captions name launches (3), acceleration (3), one cold start and one pops-and-crackles clip. Two captions name a supercharger, which separates the Hellcat from the naturally aspirated 6.4 L 392 at 485 hp: the 6.2 L blower car makes 707 hp in 2015-2018 form and 797 hp as the Redeye, with a whine over the V8. The B-body 426 HEMI ran two four-barrel carburettors; the 440 Magnum ran one.

Charger: questions owners ask
Charger 392 or Hellcat: which makes more power?
The Hellcat, by a wide margin. The LD 392 is a naturally aspirated 6.4 L HEMI with 485 hp and 644 Nm. The supercharged 6.2 L Hellcat makes 707 hp and 881 Nm in 2015-2018, 717 hp and 889 Nm from 2019, and 797 hp and 959 Nm in the Redeye, which has a larger supercharger.
What is HEMI tick on the LD Charger?
It is lifter roller failure that damages the camshaft, and it is the most discussed mechanical issue on these cars. It is often blamed on MDS cylinder deactivation. An ECU tune such as HP Tuners can disable MDS, which sharpens throttle and shifts but affects warranty and fuel economy.
What does a smaller pulley do on a Hellcat Charger?
A smaller supercharger pulley gives a notable boost and power increase over the stock 707 or 717 hp figures. It needs a tune, and it adds heat and drivetrain stress. The facts give no specific gain, so any figure depends on the pulley and the tune.
What goes wrong on a B-body Charger?
Rust is the main item: rear quarter panels, trunk floor and under vinyl tops. The standard drum brakes are weak by modern standards, so owners fit a front disc brake conversion for much better stopping power. It departs from original spec.
