Cold Start

Nine clips: Golf GTI, Charger, Scirocco, M3 F80, WRX, G63 W463A, M5, M4 and M2. All nine captions say cold start, two add start-up, and one names a cat-back exhaust. The G63's M177 is a cross-plane V8 with side-exit pipes ahead of the rear wheels, so the start is loudest beside the car. The F80 M3's S55 is a twin-turbo inline-six whose sound owners say is augmented through the speakers. On the WRX, the burble depends on generation: unequal-length headers on EJ cars, none on the FA24F.
