Unequal-length headers decide most of what separates these clips. The GD's EJ205 has them, and they give the classic boxer burble. The VA's FA20DIT and the VB's FA24F are direct-injected turbo flat-fours that sound smoother and lack it; the FA24F makes 271 hp and 350 Nm. Of the 30 clips, 27 are tagged WRX, 2 VAB and 1 GRB. Captions name 4 track runs, a launch, an acceleration run, a dyno run and one cat-back exhaust.

WRX: questions owners ask
Which WRX has the classic boxer burble?
The EJ-engined cars. The GD's EJ205 uses unequal-length exhaust headers, which the fact sheet names as the source of the burble. The GR's EJ255 is also known for it. The VA's FA20DIT and the VB's FA24F sound smoother and less burbly.
FA20DIT or FA24F: what changed?
FA20DIT is a 1998 cc turbo flat-four with 268 hp and 350 Nm. FA24F is 2387 cc with 271 hp and 350 Nm. Both are direct-injected, so intake valve carbon buildup is the listed long-term concern on each. The VB is also quieter and smoother than the older EJ cars.
What are the weak points of EJ-engined WRXs?
On the EJ25, ringland and piston failure and rod bearing failure are listed, especially on tuned cars. A clogged banjo bolt filter in the turbo oil feed can starve the turbo. The 5-speed manual is considered fragile under hard launches.
Does an ECU tune make sense on a VA WRX?
A tune such as a Cobb Accessport gives a large torque gain, especially with intake and exhaust parts. The trade-off is that poor tunes are blamed for engine failures, and there are warranty implications. A downpipe or J-pipe needs a tune and may cause check-engine issues.
